Celebrating the Keepers of the Covenant
In June, the Keepers of the Covenant session faced the Southern Territory and were commissioned as Salvation Army Lieutenants. This marked the end of their time preparing at Evangeline Booth College and the beginning of their lifelong ministry.
Commissioning Weekend celebrated the time spent in academic study, hands-on ministry, and following God's call. It marks a new beginning for these officers as they go out into communities across the Southern Territory to share the Gospel, help those in need, and guide others to Christ.
The Keepers of the Covenant theme shows their dedication to God's promises. During their time at Evangeline Booth College, these cadets grew as disciples, servant leaders, and future Salvation Army officers. Through classes, fieldwork, worship, and practical ministry, they gained the skills to serve wherever God calls them.
Now, a few weeks into their first appointments, their time of preparation has become a time to share their message.
As these new Lieutenants continue settling into their first assignments, we invite you to pray for each of them. Ask God to give them strength as they adjust to new communities, wisdom as leaders, and a deeper love for Christ and those they serve. May they stay true to their covenant with God and share the hope of the Gospel wherever they go.
